The Northwest CT YMCA Parents of Swim Team (POST) organization is your voice on this swim team. Comprised of all the parents/guardians of the Lasers swimmers, our mission is to create a closer relationship between the parents of our swimmers and the Y. A combined effort will result in the highest quality competitive experience for the participants of the Lasers swim team. POST serves to perform in an advocacy role to further the best interests of the children involved in the swim team program.
Every parent/guardian of a swimmer is welcomed and encouraged to attend POST meetings and participate in its activities. Meetings are held throughout the swim team season, typically once a month from September through March during the practice session time. Officers are elected to address issues raised by the general POST membership,to serve as a liaison with the YMCA administration, and to coordinate all activities of the organization.
The POST organization generally oversees such things as Fundraising, Team Social Activities and Volunteer Coordination and assists with the administration of the swim meets by serving as timers, scorekeepers, concession staffers, etc. As part of your family's commitment to the Lasers program, you will be called upon to assist in one of more of these areas throughout the course of the season. We look forward to your enthusiastic and active participation in support of the team throughout the season.
